Reporting to the Controller, the Director, Accounting Shared Services is responsible for developing and streamlining a shared services structure that will drive excellence in A/P & A/R services and internal customer support, as well as enable efficiency in integrations of acquisitions to support Altium's growth strategy (organic and inorganic). They will serve as a leader to the A/P and A/R teams, business partner to key stakeholders, including Sales, Commercial Excellence and broader finance teams, and driver of continuous improvement, proactive identification of trends and dashboard.
Essential Functions- Roles/Responsibilities
- Lead and primary oversight to the shared service functions of Order to Cash, Record to Report, and Procure to Pay. In addition, the leader is responsible for effective and efficient delivery of services and collaborate with the leadership across the entire order-to-cash cycle and cross functional teams to achieve the Company's goals including bringing insights and new ideas.
- Lead Shared Services team to effectively drive and manage change in the organization.
- Drive continuous process improvement within the shared services organization, and ensure all policies and processes are efficient and aligned with business objectives
- Oversee monthly close processes, cash reconciliation, preparation of data and reporting for internal & external auditors
- Develop, monitor, and improve key performance metrics to measure the quality and efficiency of the shared service processes
- Provide support on troubleshooting and finding solutions for internal & external customers
- Support IS, Purchasing, Sales, Treasury, and functional accounting teams as shared services SME
- Ensure compliance to company A/P & A/R policies and best practices
- Maintain all process and procedure documentation in response to changing business conditions, ERP implementation and internal control requirements
Required Education and Experience
- Undergraduate university degree such as Bachelor's Degree in Economics, Finance, Accounting, or related quantitative discipline
- 10+ years' experience in accounting, corporate finance, or related field
- 5+ years' experience managing a team responsible for all A/R & A/P processes
- Solid understanding and experience with US GAAP reporting requirements including internal controls and reporting skills
- Experience with JDE or comparable ERP system
- Strong understanding of leading practices with shared services, including technologies
- Proven leadership in managing a productivity agenda and employing RPA and other automation capabilities to provide an efficient and effective product of transaction processing
- Maintain an effective and motivated organization through proper selection, training, feedback, coaching, compensation, and recognition of staff
- Experience with acquisition integration, managing projects and/or building and scaling a team desirable.
- Highly proficient with Microsoft Office® suite products, i.e. Excel and PowerPoint. Excel - Ability to create complex spreadsheets and pivot tables. PowerPoint - Ability to create and modify business presentations
- Strong decision-making, multi-tasking and execution abilities under tight deadlines.
- Ability to maintain a high level of product and customer knowledge across all business lines.
- Customer centric mentality, with the ability to anticipate customer/supplier needs.
- Excellent interpersonal, conflict resolution, presentation and customer service skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail
Preferred Education and Experience
- Experience in consumer packaged goods manufacturing or similar industry and a flow business (high volume of transactions) is a plus.
- CPA and / or graduate degree
